This morning we woke up and on checking realised that it had got too hot in the duck egg “incubator” – way over 39 degrees. This is partly because it gets very warm in the living room in the day, although it’s cold at night.
We got the temperature down in the box, but I don’t know how long the eggs were over heated. The embryos could be already dead but we won’t know until a few more days have passed and we can see for sure if they are still developing.
As of now, they look like they are around the 10th-12th day of development. We ordered a electric automatic incubator on Amazon last week, but it will only arrive tomorrow. Hopefully the eggs are still viable then!
